Wanted: Rural Voices of Youth Country Representative

Please find message below

Dear Colleagues:

In three years since March 2005 when the Rural Voices of Youth (RVOY) was launched, The Rural Voices of Youth team has improved the lives of young people in rural communities through access to child rights information and participation in policy review activities.

Through its monthly visit to rural communities in Nigeria, UNICEF- Rural Voices of Youth has organized ICT workshops, seminars on the MDGs, Intergenerational Dialogue as well as participated in the review of the Commission on The Status of Women: Eliminating discrimination and violence against girls.

This effort has brought positive results in Nigeria and we are hoping to extend this to other countries of the world. To address this, UNICEF Rural Voices of Youth has started collating a list of young people who would like to volunteer as youth country representatives for RVOY in their countries.

In every country a youth country representative (CR) would exist to provide necessary support and guidance to the local level RVOY communities and act as the principle liaison between less digitally connected communities and the online VOY community.

RVOY will make use of facilities on face book- an online social network and the VOY online community to propagate its work.

If you are interested in being a CR in your country please send us at rvoy.unicefvoy@ gmail.com your name, address (including telephone and email address), organizational affiliation and contact within that organization plus a 250 word essay detailing your work and interests in child rights.

RVOY looks forward to being able to work with you to create a world fit for children.

Do not hesitate to contact us should you need further information.

Regards,

Oyebisi Babatunde Oluseyi
Global Coordinator: UNICEF- Rural Voices of Youth
